Self-service video & podcast studio
A studio with a cattitude in Stara Ochota district
To perorate is to talk at length, with passion and without censorship. You key in the door code, the door opens, and the studio takes care of the light, the set and the quiet. You are left alone with the microphone.

A form on steroids: the assistant gathers everything you need, then a person from our team follows up already holding the full brief. It answers only from what we have published, prices included.

From door code to recording
Nobody watches through the glass. Here is the whole route.
- 1
Tell us what you're recording
The assistant works like a form on steroids: it gathers the details, then the studio operator follows up with a complete brief and sets up your account.
- 2
A welcome hour, free
Your first booking is always a free session: you get to know the room before paying anything.
- 3
The door code
You'll find the code in the client portal after booking. Down the stairs to level −1, coffee, a moment to collect your thoughts.
- 4
The studio sets itself up
Automation brings up the lights and prepares the set when you begin. You talk for as long as you like.
Three frames
This is how you look on camera
Three identical Sony A7 IV bodies with the same lens: the footage from every angle matches without hand-grading the colour. Each camera records separately in 4K alongside multitrack audio, and the live preview cuts to whoever is speaking by itself.

Vertical clips for Reels and Shorts
The cameras sit on panoramic fluid heads, so they shoot horizontally. You can go vertical two ways: crop from the 4K files, or add a DJI Osmo Pocket 4P to the session, which we recommend for shorts.

Getting here
Stara Ochota, by Plac Narutowicza
- Public transport
- Plac Narutowicza is well served by public transport.
- By car
- There is street parking, but this is the historic part of Ochota: narrow one-way streets, especially in the evening. Leave yourself extra time.
- Accessibility
- This is a historic building. A ramp leads to the front door, so the production floor (level 0) is step-free. The waiting room, green room and WC are on level −1, reachable only by stairs, so that level is not wheelchair accessible. If you need step-free access, tell the assistant.
- On site
- The door code and entry details arrive in the client portal after booking. The portal also gives you direct contact with the team (portal in preparation).
We record here ourselves
A Podcast About Japan: season 4 is made at perorowisko
A Podcast About Japan · season 4
We host A Podcast About Japan. Season four is recorded in this room, so you can see the studio at work: the same cameras, the same table, the same backdrops you'd use. Alongside it we'll show a test session for a show that has nothing to do with Japan, recorded against the curtain or one of the backdrops.
A Podcast About Japan · season 4
This video is hosted on YouTube (Google). We'll show it once you allow videos.
Two storeys
The set upstairs, room to breathe below
The production floor at street level, the back of house one floor down.
Level 0 · production floor
Three cameras, the modular table, backdrops and lighting. A ramp leads to the front door, so this level is step-free.
Level −1 · waiting room and green room
Waiting room, green room and WC. Only stairs lead here, so this level is not wheelchair accessible.
Modular table
A table that grows with the conversation
- module
- 80 × 51 cm
- height
- 74 cm
- 2+1 layout
- ≈ 200 cm
- modules
- 3 + 1
- Wide edge on your side. 51 cm of legroom, like a desk, with no neighbour's elbow in frame.
- Interchangeable kumiko fronts. Japanese latticework facing the cameras. The panels lift off and swap.
- No holes in the top. The boom-mounted microphone moves wherever suits you.
Roll-down backdrops
Five backdrops, five different recordings
The Japanese aesthetic works just as well for shows that aren't about Japan: wood, paper light and moss read as calm and careful on camera. If you'd rather a different look, beyond the japandi set the room carries five roll-down backdrops: three vinyl, which you bring to life with five RGB lamps, and two paper. There is also a full-wall moss theatrical curtain.
- Whitevinyl · RGB
- Greyvinyl · RGB
- Blackvinyl · RGB
- Greenscreenpaper · long, covers the floor
- Terracottapaper
The green screen runs onto the floor, so you can key a whole figure, not just a head and shoulders.
Equipment and design
Earth-toned japandi, broadcast kit
The room was designed under the internal name MOKU-SHIN: warm browns, forest green, wooden slats, a moss-coloured curtain, a shoji screen, noren curtains and Japanese wagasa umbrellas as the accent.
- Cameras
- 3 × Sony A7 IV, full-frame 33 MP, S-Cinetone profile. Vario-Tessar T* FE 24-70mm f/4 ZA OSS lenses. A 7-inch preview monitor at every camera. Mains powered, no battery swaps.
- Sound
- A RØDECaster Pro II mixer, Shure SM7B dynamic microphones on studio booms, high-density acoustic panels and corner bass traps.
- Light
- 3 × amaran DX200 in 120 cm softboxes with grids. Plus five RGB lamps: 2 × Neewer 660 PRO, 2 × Zhiyun M20C and a Zhiyun CX50 with a snoot that draws shoji-like geometry on the wall. All of it on SkyTrack ceiling rails, so the light moves to any wall you like.
- Set
- Wooden slats that happen to diffuse sound. Hand-built acoustic panels upholstered in Marimekko fabric. A heavy, full-wall moss-coloured theatrical curtain with a second rail for a lighter drape, a shoji screen, decorative noren curtains and wagasa umbrellas. You can dress the shot with Japanese pieces: a bonsai, a postbox, a geiko print and figurines. The props and the japandi styling are optional: if your show has a different mood, the backdrop can be the curtain alone or one of the five roll-downs.
- Table
- Modular, in solid oak: 80 × 51 cm modules, 74 cm high, in a 2+1 or 3+1 layout. Black steel legs, interchangeable kumiko fronts.
- Backdrops
- Five roll-downs: white, grey and black vinyl for RGB light, plus paper green screen (with floor coverage) and terracotta.
- Production
- A RØDECaster Video S records every camera separately (ISO) in 4K, synchronised with multitrack audio. Its AI-driven video-follows-audio mode cuts to whoever is speaking on its own.
- Isolation and reliability
- A double wall on GenieClip RST isolators. Two independent internet connections. Recording to two media in parallel, timecode-synchronised.

How to access the studio
